Photomanipulation: Honorable Mention 2016 (professional)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Portrait of two cormorants. I like to take photographs of wild animals and put them in what feels more like a controlled studio environment causing the viewer to pause and take a second look. Also, as a somewhat frustrated painter, in order for the picture to be successful, I have to make decisions about light, composition, depth, etc, that are much more akin to painting a picture.
AUTHOR
A have a double major in photography and graphic design from the University of Michigan School of Art. Throughout my career I pursued photography and art direction ultimately becoming a Creative Director at DDB, Cole & Weber and other large and small advertising agency.
