Wildlife: Honorable Mention 2016 (professional)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This portrait was part of a series that were taken at Edinburgh Zoo using a Canon 600d and standard 18-55mm lens. The portrait style gave each animal a personality, making them more relate-able to us. I approached these portraits in an attempt to create an closeness between the viewer and the animal. I wanted to photograph in such a way that we should look at these creatures not as mere animals but as our fellow companions.
