AUTHOR
I’m a self taught photographer ,with no formal education in photography at all .I started taking photography seriously in the early 1990’s when I bought my first DSLR Pentax P30N which I still have. But my influences go further back than that, starting with my father who was a keen photographer and artist. Often on a weekend drive my father would stop the car and get out to take a photo of an old barn in a field, or it might be a an old boat lying on its side on the beach at low tide. I’m often out on road trips. Typically I will either go out on my own or with another photographer or a it may even be a group. Often I will drive anywhere up into about 2-3 hours away to take photos . It could be an historic town , taking photos of old farm buildings along the way , waterfalls , coast is one of my favorites , especially the surf coast the wilder the better, overcast stormy weather is great for moody black and white photos.
I decided to go completely black and white with my processing about 5 or so years ago. I've always loved black and white and really wanted to master it. So it was a challenge to process completely in black and white.
