ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This was taken looking into the Palm house at Edinburgh Royal Botanic Gardens.
I was interested in the marks on the window that appeared to have been made by the plant as it grew towards the light.
AUTHOR
I am an artist, project manager and creative practitioner and primarily work with photography and sound. I have been developing my photography over the past 4 years.
In my personal work I'm largely drawn to 2 broad themes: memory & narratives and personal and human relationships to natural world. In my approaches to these themes I aim to create images and series of images that offer opportunities for reflection & interpretation and for the viewer to create their own narratives: I prefer to hint or suggest, rather than tell. What lies beyond the plane of focus, or is obscured by shadow is often equally as important as what appears to be the focus of the image or what is revealed by light. Much of my work is in black and white.
