ENTRY DESCRIPTION
I am a 36 years old amateur photographer. I have been practicing photography for 20 years. My interest in photography grew out of the press and the publications of the great photojournalists who allowed me to have a personal vision of history. I developed my vision while traveling with a film camera, attaching myself to capture a subject in a context.
This "Capture" series is my second photographic project.
This is a studio series that combines the singularity of a look and the aestheticism of a motif. I work with an "overhead projector" projection system in collaboration with tattoo artists and makeup artists sometimes, or simply with my own motives, trying to harmonize the drawing in the face of my model.
Many people make their own body an artistic medium. Tattooing, piercing, body painting are very contemporary forms of using one's own body as an artistic object but also emancipation. It is more than a fashion today, it is also for some a form of militancy, a way to make itself more singular than it is.
My job is to use the body as an aesthetic support, and the eye as a photographic value.
My first series "Courant-continu" was focused on highlighting the contemplative gaze of my subject in front of scenes of ordinary life. And I am attached in this second project to keep this guideline which is the essence of what inspires me in my photographic eyes.
