ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Ritu, 23, has been an advocate for India’s Stop Acid Attacks campaign for the last few years.She loves playing volleyball. One day one her way to practice, she was attacked with acid just to settle some scores with her family on a property matter. Ritu was not only disfigured, but lost her eyesight, and had to discontinue her education. That was when campaigners of the Stop Acid Attacks movement got in touch with her and motivated her to continue treatment, regain her self-confidence and become independent as its not her fault at all. Currently, she works in Agra's Sheroes Hangout cafe. Ritu smiles and proudly says “nothing seems impossible now!”.

Jai Thakur, a Business Research Analyst by profession is a self-taught photographer. Brought up in a small cantonment of Darjeeling district he is now based in Delhi. He started photography out of his passion for traveling and storytelling. His work has been selected and displayed at various national and international platforms.
He is a recipient of prestigious Sahapedia Frames Grant and also, won awards at the repute of Paris Photo Prize (PX3), International Photography Awards (IPA), Monochrome International Photography Awards, Moscow International Foto Awards (MIFA), Tokyo International Foto Awards (TIFA), Sahitya Kala Parishad and Jeevika: 10th Asian Livelihood Documentary Film Awards. His work has been published in various media platforms be it print or online like National Geographic Your Shot, 121clicks, Photographer’s Forum Magazine, Dodho Magazine, CityAir News, Indian Education Diary, etc. Also, he has been a part of MX Player Web-series “Express Yourself” on River Conservation and recently, appointed as a Brand Ambassador of Tripoto Pvt. Ltd.
