Photojournalism: Honorable Mention 2017 (amateur)
After war Hunger and Hope. by JESUS JIMENEZ (Spain)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
A real Story of Hunger and Hope, the Spanish society after the Civil War. I like to explore the corners of my country and reach the most isolated places then you can discover some areas where time stopped like century ago. Hard manual work is done day by day for those people in their lands and farms,a lifestyle that little has changed since the post Spanish civil war and this kind of people remember those grey days of Hunger and Hope.
AUTHOR
My name is Jesus and I was born in Spain in 1978.
Member of the Spanish Royal society of photography.
Professional airline pilot who allows me to practice my passion for photography in different places.
As a purely urban photographer,I usually spend many hours walking around the city looking carefully at everything around me.
I am very concerned with the situation of the people who have difficulties and my photography shows sometimes the worst human behavior like people look away when they see someone with problems.
Normally I work with a Leica M9 and a 50mm lens, i like to have the control about my camera not the opposite.
