ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Central Lake is an extract of a series where NYC is interacting with nature a lot more than it actually does. In this shot, iconic NYC Central Park is replaced by water that would give a very different take on going to "Central Lake", would it still be a NY favorite? I would tend to think so, but could you imagine how crowded the beaches would be in the summer?
The idea is for the viewer to look at the picture and react in two steps, first, acknowledging the picture as it is, faked by the "banality" of the shot and then be impacted by realizing that they are not real. The black and white is chosen to add credibility to the picture.
I am a big nature guy, but came to the US for work opportunity, and apart from my family, it is my only regret to have abandoned the wildness of nature and its activities for the concrete jungle. So my mind is always wondering in which ways I could go escape the city.
AUTHOR
I am a young creative, learning, in perpetual movement. Currently living in NYC. I was born in a suitcase, a multicultural kid of the digital era. Half in the woodz, as a freerider, a mountaineer looking for an adeline rush but also half urban as a true hiphop head, a house fella, and a concrete jungle hunter. If I have to be categorised I would go for film maker, beat maker, and an ongoing son of a sampling machine. I am all about doing more. I like to discover the world through travelling. I have lived quite some time abroad. I try to go as many places as I possibly can. Always.
