Photomanipulation: Honorable Mention 2017 (amateur)
malinowski-paul_blizzard disorientation by Paul Malinowski (United States)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Blizzard at a park in Colorado. The wind and snow create a disorienting effect that I amplified in post-processing.
AUTHOR
Stop. Look. Interpret.
Whenever I take a photograph, my goal is to visually interpret the present moment, no matter what the subject is. Photography allows me to intersect space and time as “seen” from multiple points of view. I strive to discover a unique point of view, whether that be a story, composition or play of light, and then turn that into my photograph. I particularly enjoy seeing the abstract, whether in an everyday object or a unique subject. I use post-processing to enhance the vision I have of the final image. That may render the image a painterly, dreamlike quality or it may produce a gritty reality, whatever the vision calls for.
I am fortunate to live in beautiful Colorado but I believe in seeing beauty in any place at any time. That's why the "tag line" of my website is "Visually interpreting the present moment".
