NONAGENARIAN
A Nonagenarian is a person between the ages of 90 and 99.
Nonagenarian is also the name of a series of photos that I plan on shooting of friends who live at Shell Point.
I will not choose my models to pose for these photos because they are wrinkled or elderly looking but because of their positive attitudes and gusto for life. My goal in taking these photos is to capture the beauty of their wise and timeless personalities. Each photography is a mini story of a long live well lived. To be true to their generation I will be working in
analog format. The images will be graphic and honest.
The camera I will be using is a 30 year old medium format Mamyia 1000s, with black and white film. Black & white film has an
incredible huge dynamic range of detail in both highlights and shadows. The BOKEH* is outstanding in portraiture photography when using this kind of camera. The negatives will be scanned Hi-Res after they are developed which now makes them digital imagery.
