ENTRY DESCRIPTION
An early morning drink to quench their thirst at Zimanga Private Game Reserve, South Africa before another long, hot day grazing. I was working in a photographic hide and in the early hours of the morning they quietly moved in. They made it as difficult as possible by not stopping long, splashing the glass in front of my camera and by their sheer size. It wasn't easy up close to fit them in the photograph.
AUTHOR
I enjoy both Sport and Wildlife Photography. I first became interested in wildlife photography in 1995 while visiting Africa. My husband and I travelled extensively through Kenya, Zimbabwe, Tanzania and Uganda. We were fortunate enough to spend time with the Mountain Gorillas in what used to be known as Zaire, and so my passion for African wildlife and its conservation began.
We have since returned to explore further both Kenya and Tanzania. We have enjoyed the splendors of Uganda, Botswana, Namibia and much of South Africa. Recent time spent at Zimanga Private Game Reserve has been particularily precious.
I donate a number of my images to various foundations such as African Wildlife Foundation and Elephantopia to assist them in the tremendous job they do preserving African wildlife for generations to come. For me, Africa has a way of reaching deep into my soul and through photography I hope to share this with you.
