ENTRY DESCRIPTION
I was lucky to be close to this Laughing Kookaburra all through the hunting, catching and devouring process.
AUTHOR
I guess you would call me a serious amateur or enthusiast. In my early I dabbled with Petri and Pentax film cameras and a make-shift darkroom in the bathroom. The book that started me on this journey initially is Masters of Photography by Beaumont and Nancy Newhall.
After moving for work, photography went out the window and I sold all my cameras and darkroom gear (which I regret). I am now picking up where I left off with digital photography and I had aimed to become highly technically proficient with the new technology before I retired from work. However, retired earlier than I thought - still got some work to do to become highly proficient. Have just commenced down the awards path and aim to have my first exhibition by age 70.
I started my digital journey with an Olympus DSLR gear (which I still have and use). I usually take two cameras and additional lenses just about everywhere I go. My partner is very patient and slows down or stops the car for a snap, or gives up the window seat on the aircraft when we fly. I enjoy trying to shoot photographs in all genres - portrait, wildlife, landscapes, candid, etc. I have now moved to Nikon full-frame gear.
