Nude: Honorable Mention 2017 (professional)
AUTHOR
I create black and white photographs on the border between nude art and conceptualism. In my works, nude photography is often a secondary topic. I usually use the human body to create paintings where the main themes are simple ideas such as: loneliness, alienation, fear, discomfort, dependence.
Reproducing real life in color is not an interesting topic for me. I have a subjective feeling that monochrome photography allows me to separate the image from reality more than color. Black and white photography allows me to focus better on shapes and composition.
My repertoire of photographic techniques includes, among others, analog medium format film, digital camera and wet collodion plate.
I increasingly use historical techniques such as oil prints, cyanotypes, van Dyke bronze or salt prints.
In 2000, I completed studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań, Faculty of Multimedia Communication. I finished my education by defending my diploma thesis in the field of pinhole photography in the studio of prof. Krzysztof Baranowski.
