ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This photo shows the contrast between the daily lives of the people, and the idealized image portrayed by the billboard in Freetown, Sierra Leone.

AUTHOR
I was born in Troy, NY and immigrated to Canada in 1971. My artistic career began with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree, majoring in printmaking. The past twenty years have been dedicated to documentary photography,traveling to over forty countries.

Photography for me is about capturing a fleeting moment, a moment that quickly disappears. My images are primarily black and white, which I find simplifies the subject and draws out the essence of a moment.
