ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Mudere, North Kivu region, Democratic Republic of Congo. Miners rest during the digging of a new tunnel in a mine of Coltan. Once the tunnel reaches the depth of 20 meters, it will be shored up with simple planks of wood: collapses are frequent, especially during the rain season.
AUTHOR
Erberto Zani is an Italian freelance photojournalist based between Parma (Italy) and Basel (Switzerland). Since 2008 he focused on capturing people’s daily life, strength in their environments. His work documents social and environmental issues, systemic inequalities, cultural traditions.
