ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This is a H-alpha narrowband image made with an 8" newtonian telescope. The image represents the central region of the so called "Heart Nebula" in the constellation Cassiopeia. The stars were removed to show the abstract forms of interstellar dust located about 7,500 light years away from Earth. It took about 4,5 hours of exposure for the dedicated astro-camera to capture enough photons and show these details.
AUTHOR
I was born in Hungary and after finishing my medical studies I moved to Germany and works as a neurosurgeon in Stuttgart. Photography was always an important part of professional life for my research projects. However with artistic photography I started first in 2015 after buying my first DSLR camera. My special field of interest is astrophotography with my 8" newtonian telescope as well as wide field lenses. In terrestrial photography my favourite topic is the human being in black and white.
