Architecture: Honorable Mention 2018 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
German Pavillon at the 1929 Expo in BCN, matrix panorama
One of the curious games that Mies planned for this building, certainly later reconstructed, is that existence of symmetries that the visitor finds in his dialogue or cohabitation with the building and that curiously are not externalized in the general conception of it. One of the most curious is this kind of dance that the sculpture called "day" conjugates with the almost negligible pillar of the free structure of the building although in this case it appears an unusual robustness due to its resonance with the glass that separates the hall from the courtyard, a whole magnified symmetry for a building whose volumetric conception does not allude precisely to this formal resource
