Architecture: Honorable Mention 2018 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Aerial imagery I captured of the symmetry of city blocks and highlights the grand scheme of urban planning. Those walking the streets below are unaware of the beauty, the symmetry and the curiosity of the streets they walk, and the buildings they pass. This image is a reminder to consider the bigger picture, and to consider your place in the world.
AUTHOR
Richard Vandegriend is a self-taught Vancouver based photographer whose passion is landscape and fine-art photography. Believing that composition and timing are critical to a great image, compositional elements are not altered in post-processing. Instead care and patience are exercised to ensure the image was captured perfectly in camera. As landscape photography is so dependent on lighting and weather conditions, more often than not, great images are discovered rather than planned. One must give themselves the time and opportunity to discover these images.
