Architecture: Honorable Mention 2018 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
In early January 2018. the east coast of North America experienced the most severe “Bomb Cyclone” in many years. The snow covered the entire northeast area and brought freshness to the region. Roosevelt Four Freedom Park in New York City was the very last masterpiece of the legendary architect Louis Kahn. The memorial is comprised of several huge but neat stones, while blocking out the clamor from the street, it also encompasses a minimalist space, asking visitors to meditate along with President Roosevelt’s declaration of freedom in the precious serenity. The park is located in a serene island in the bustling city of New York, where the monument finds its aura of a memorial, in a rigorous symmetry layout and was enhanced by the pure white snow.
