Conceptual: Honorable Mention 2018 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
According to McCullough's professional manifest, gentryFIXATION is a process of renovation and extension of deteriorated walls separating elite urban neighborhoods from everything else within screwedCITY metropolitan area. The process does not necessarily include the influx of more affluent residents, but is predominantly directed towards discouraging ambitious lower-income upstarts in their unrealistic dreams.
It should be noted that many plays presented during „screwedCITY Open Air Theater Festival“ take place in front of the walls of elite urban neighborhoods. One of the most popular and most performed play is about impossible love between a lower-income upstart and a rich little heiress called „G-entry point“.
gentryFIXATION is part of "screwedCITY" series.
