ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Taken in Verbier, Switzerland back in February 2016. I loved the minimalism of the shot.
AUTHOR
I grew up in Tottenham, North London, and moved to Dorset at the age of ten. I had intentions of becoming a bi-lingual secretary, taking languages, shorthand and typing. However, I decided at A level that I wanted to pursue Geography and Geology. In 1980 I went to Plymouth where I completed an Hons degree in Geology. I returned to live in Poole and worked for British Gas for seven years and spent ten years living in West Lulworth, Dorset with my husband and children. I have always had an interest in photography, using film cameras from my latter school years, but it wasn't until 2008 that I purchased my first Nikon DSLR. I joined a 2 year part-time A level course in 2009 and continued on to a Foundation degree in Photographic Practice at the Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) which I completed in 2013. In the last few years I have embarked on a substantial amount of travel photography, landscapes and seascapes with a more recent development into abstract work. I find this very enjoyable to make and recently exhibited a new series of square mandalas. I have recently self-published a small hardback book based on an original project "Looking for Alice", which I showcased during an exhibition at the Gallery Upstairs, Upton Country Park.
