ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This is a self-portrait. Dreaminess is perhaps the quality most consistent in my character; it is certainly one of my earliest memories: being content to be alone with my thoughts and imaginings. Here, the self-portrait is overlaid with scenes of the natural world, of framed photographs, a sculpture of a falling angel, an antique tapesty hand-embroidered by women... all recurring themes in my own, and many others', dreams.
AUTHOR
I am fascinated by how putting a frame around something transforms the quality of our attention. We are living in a miraculous world that is essentially the ongoing creation of an unimaginably complex, intricate, and infinitely beautiful work of art. It is my intention to draw attention to the complexity and beauty of “ordinary” things, as a drop-in-the-ocean antidote to the tendency toward shallowness of modern life.
