AUTHOR
Joelle Chmiel is a self-taught Swiss photographer with a focus on street photography and self-portraiture.
Her photographic journey began in 2014, inspired by her first encounter with a Leica camera.
Driven by a deep interest in visual storytelling, she seeks the extraordinary fleeting moments within ordinary everyday life which most of us would overlook.
Joelle was born and raised in Zurich, Switzerland, where she completed both medical and dental school. She worked as a physician in the field of maxillofacial surgery and dentistry before before photography and artistic creation started to take precedence in her life.
