Landscapes: Honorable Mention 2018 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Arriving at the Palmer Archipelago in the Antarctic Peninsula, having crossed the Drake Passage, we were gifted a most spectacular sighting of a bay full of whales. An unusual experience in recent decades, it was a magnificent experience to see these creatures in numbers that would have in past centuries been common. This lovely symmetry of a glacier and a whale blow created a mystical and atmospheric memory.
