Landscapes: Honorable Mention 2018 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
I was living in Brooklyn, New York at the time where I worked in the federal building in lower Manhattan. On nice days, I rode my bicycle to work which took me across the Brooklyn Bridge.
It was a particularly damp and foggy morning as I peddeled my way up the ramp to the bridge. Visibility was poor. Fog horns blared in the distance. I was struck by a solitary man walking towards Manhattan and into the fog. He was the only sign of life in my view.
I stopped, pulled out my camera from its case, quickly set the exposure, snapped. I wanted another shot with a slightly different exposure. I made the adjustments, raised my camera again and framed the shot. Just then, a throng of people emerged out of the fog making their way towards me. By the time they cleared my view, the man had disappeared into the fog.
