Landscapes: Honorable Mention 2018 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
A shipwreck lies partially submerged in the sandy beach of the Oregon coast in the Pacific Northwest. I utilized a long exposure with slight over-exposure purposely to isolate the shipwreck in the photo and create the illusion of a dreamscape.
AUTHOR
Richard Vandegriend is a self-taught Vancouver based photographer whose passion is landscape and fine-art photography. Believing that composition and timing are critical to a great image, compositional elements are not altered in post-processing. Instead care and patience are exercised to ensure the image was captured perfectly in camera. As landscape photography is so dependent on lighting and weather conditions, more often than not, great images are discovered rather than planned. One must give themselves the time and opportunity to discover these images.
