ENTRY DESCRIPTION
A Georgian Orthodox Church lies nestled in the Caucasus Mountains along the Georgian Military Highway. Over 2000 years ago, this route was traveled by traders and merchants as part of the "silk road" connecting the East and the West.

AUTHOR
Ryan McKnight founded and leads the award-winning design team at Industry Dive, a rapidly growing business news company in Washington, DC.

McKnight has documented the interior of melting glaciers, the earth from the stratosphere, the snows of Kilimanjaro, endangered sea turtles in the Galápagos and WWII shipwrecks in the Red Sea.

He is a scuba diver, freediver, wilderness first aid responder and alpine mountaineer.
