ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Luminous. Glowing in the evening gloom, a rare Spirit Bear emerges from British Columbia's Great Bear Rainforest to forage on the shoreline. Fewer than 500 of these bears are known to exist. They are white forms - not albinos- of the common black bear. Revered by people of the First Nations, Spirit Bears, ghosting through the warmth and abundance of summer, served as reminders of the need to prepare for the hard-frozen hardships of the coming winter.
