ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This photo features Shibari, a Japanese rope-tying technique that was traditionally used to incapacitate suspected criminals centuries ago, but which is now often used in a more erotic context. However, I wanted to show how this technique can also be used to celebrate the beauty and power of the naked female form. The model, who is a former ballet dancer, needed to be exceptionally strong and flexible to hold this pose. I think Shibari can be both fascinating and beautiful and I wanted to find a way to demonstrate this in my photography.
