Photojournalism: Honorable Mention 2018 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
On the morning of 22 March 2016, three coordinated suicide bombings hit Brussels: two at the capital's Airport in Zaventem, and one at Maalbeek metro station in central Brussels. Less than an hour after the explosion, Rue de la Loi is sealed. Journalists are kept 100mts away from the entry of the Malbeek Station, a few steps away from the European Commission and the 'EU Neighbourhood'. Thirty-two civilians and three perpetrators were killed, and more than 300 people were injured in the attacks.
