AUTHOR
Francesco Soave was born in Verona, Italy, and graduated in architecture from Politecnico di Milano, though he spent most of the university time abroad. When he flew to Colombia for an internship, he then traveled across South America overland, documenting the life, people and places with his camera.
Arrived in Chile he went on studying while producing for his dissertation a reportage in the Atacama Desert. After graduation he combined independent architecture projects in Mexico with local friends, and travel photography in Central America.
After four years in Latin countries, he left for Southeast Asia to devote entirely to travel and documentary photography. On his return, one year later, the images and stories of that journey have been exhibited at 29 Arts In Progress gallery in Milan.
‘Silent Heroes – people at work in incredible places’, is Francesco’s current long-term photographic project. It all started among the toxic fumes of a volcanic crater.
