"Ivano Mercanzin is a man and photographer of great sensitivity, intelligence and refined culture, something you can perceive well in his short stories; he alternates photographic images "difficult" of no immediate reading because of their deep cultural references; unsettling, modern and congealed architectures ( which are always are part of his world); to photos of "little things"; to fragile, simple stories that only the "big", and only they can do; they tell you with poetry that often is due to them. It is his small world of feelings and elementary things, and if it is not the only one he seems to prefer, it certainly involves him in perceiving it as deeply his own; It almost seems like a memory of his past. It is something that is inside him as presence. It's his going back there with his own feelings; like watching an old family photos and in it magically seeing yourself and your own past but also your present.
