ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Fresh snow covered the slopes of Genesee Park as one of the buffalo herds dug for grass. The only thing between us a flimsy chain link fence. Slowly I crunched closer camera in tow but one misstep snaps a branch and the buffalo's head up. His eyes meet mine cold and serious; a reminder while the fence may contain the wild, it can never tame what's within.

AUTHOR
My first camera was a gift from my mom for my brother and I to use on vacation in Alaska. The thing a clunky Canon that couldn't have cost more than $40, but it became my new obsession. While on vacation we got lucky enough to find ourselves in a pod of orca whales, camera at hand. Every since that moment, I've been hooked on photography.
I base myself out of New Orleans, Louisiana and attend Tulane University as an Art History student during the year. I've always really enjoyed nature and landscape photography and it is my primary focus but when my friend has asked me to take some portraits of her and her horse, I fell in love with portraits. The energy behind the photos and the stories waiting to be told were what drew me in. Interning at local non-profit Boys Hope Girls Hope, I was challenged with event photography at their annual gala and am proud to add another type of photography to my arsenal.
