ENTRY DESCRIPTION
It was the first time I had photographed from an overnight hide and I was very anxious to see what animal might come for a drink and if I could successfully capture an image. The wild dogs moved quickly in and out of the light. I think they had killed nearby and were eager to drink, but very cautious as they often are around water in fear of crocodiles. This image is of a beautiful sub-adult and I love how she is reflexed in the water. The African Wild Dog is one of the most endangered canids with less than 6,000 left in Africa.
