ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This photograph was taken during a change-of-the-look-break in a beauty shooting executed in Cape Town at Blackdog Studios.
As one of the two models was having her make up re-touched I found this spot under a tungsten light; as quick as a blink, the image I wanted to capture run through my mind... Why just leaving it to my imagination? Let's do it...
So I asked the model to kindly sit on a chair, wear my lucky black hat, light a cigarette and pose for me.

The idea, creativity and vision became all-in-one tangible image in a matter of 1/40 of a second.

AUTHOR
Mauro Matalone is an Italian photographer based in Milan and working internationally.
The path in the world of professional photography began in his early thirties in Cape Town where he lived for over a decade shaping vision and style on fashion portraits and reportage. The elegance of his works have obtained publications on international platforms such as PhotoVogue Italia, The Independent Photographer and Monochrome Photography Awards among others.
