Landscapes: Honorable Mention 2018 (professional)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Last winter I visited Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge in New Mexico. I had originally visited to photograph the migrating birds. However, when I arrived, fog had settled in. So instead of being disappointed that I could photograph birds, I took advantage of the beauty presented and took landscape photos instead.
AUTHOR
I have lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico, since 1994. I love the history, wildlife and varied landscapes of the Land of Enchantment. My favorite pastime is to get off the beaten path with my dog (and best friend Scarlett) and photograph what I consider some of the most stunning scenery of the southwest. I also enjoy traveling to the neighboring states and capturing other unique landscapes and wildlife.
Most of my life I have lived in the American Southwest. From the high plains deserts to the peaks of the mountains and all the wildlife within, there is a wild beauty that I love to capture in my art. I'm drawn to the colorful geology, the beautiful and often majestic wildlife and the unique history that can only be found in the Southwest. Traveling and capturing this unique beauty is my passion.
