Landscapes: Honorable Mention 2018 (professional)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
It was during a helicopter flight in Switzerland, when the the Matterhorn emerged suddenly in front of our eyes. The pilot just explained, that this way was the most easy possibility to achieve the top. It was unbelievable, you could even see the footsteps of the people who walked up there. The ridge was so steep and small, that you could more or less only put one feet after the other, overtaking impossible.
The pilot told us, the day before, he followed a tourist in the morning, some hour laters he was just gone. Now Missing. From the bottom the Matterhorn looks already impossible to take but it's only from the view in the air that you can really imagine, what to expect there. And even more amazing: this cross at the top, like a symbol for mankind that you have to try the impossible to achieve the possible and also it stands there as a memorial for the power of nature itself.
AUTHOR
"Since my childhood I was interested in revealing the mysteries behind our first look and impression. I wanted to extract the soul everything surrounding us, I wanted to question our perception.
I want to know where are the intersections and tensions between formes and individuals, men, women and cultures in a certain space. What are our feelings and motivations intrinsically and what of these is seen outside on the exterior?
What does the other person want to see? What are the reciproque dynamism’s? And what kind of traces and reflections do we leave because of this fight and this friction in the frame of time?
Who will hear and listen to our echo?
I express myself in many various techniques. Often I combine photography and painting with music that I compose".
