Photomanipulation: Honorable Mention 2018 (professional)
Ancient Greece. by Mirella Condés Díaz-Pintado (Spain)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This image represents a criticism of society.
Society wants perfect people, and such people do not exist. In this way, the character in the photograph is anonymous because in front of his eyes there is part of a sculpture. That sculpture represents the beauty canon of The Ancient Greece. That part is what society wants to put in us, however, the character shows his face, previously hidden, in the palm of his hand. As we can see, the face is deformed, meaning that it is not perfect and that it is shown as such because it is accepted as it is.
