Portrait: Honorable Mention 2018 (professional)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
I shot this great character on the final day of our stay in Cyprus. He was one of the village elders. He told me he goes up the mountain every week day to collect Olives. Then he brings them back, crushes them and makes the best olive oil and vinegar in the village. I think he had maybe two, three teeth and loved to drink whisky. We brought him a few one night and he drove back on his little motor bike, which had no working lights!
AUTHOR
I am a 30 year old, professional photographer from Birmingham, England. I've be capturing portraits professionally for 13 years now. I photograph hundreds of babies per year and I get the pleasure to see them grow up with customers always staying loyal and returning for more family portraits, twice and sometimes three times a year!
If I had to describe my style it would hard. As I was trained very traditionally but my second love is photoshop and composites. I often (especially when working with children), like to add an element of humour to my images. Particularly sibling rivalry! I just love it when I can create a scene where the bossy but angelic little sister gets the upper hand on her big brother ie. taping him to the wall to use as a dart board or hanging him upside down from the ceiling!
Aside from my Family Studio I also photograph 20+ weddings per year and offer commercial, journalistic images.
