Portrait of the girl who lives on the Rio Negro in the State of Amazonas, Brazil. She and her pet snake, a jiboia (Boa constrictor amarali) nearly six feet long. The snake lives loose near the family's wooden floating house. The girl calls her with a light beat on the river water and on the floor of the house.
