ENTRY DESCRIPTION
I haven't been back to China for a long time, this year I had a chance for it and went back to my hometown, which is a small village. By the way, we don't live there anymore. I saw my grandpa was so happy to welcome us home and I was also happy to see him again.
When we were having dinner for the first night, grandpa was drunk and started to yell and do crazy stuff, I was shocked.
Then my relatives told me he had mental issues, people of the village dislike him all the time. I was confused.
Why my grandpa was doing these? Where is my grandpa who loved me the most? I didn't believe he was insane. After a few days, I was taking photos in the back-yard and found my grandpa was sitting in his own earthen room, with his uniform, looking outside but nothing could be seen through the window but sunlight. He had tears in his eyes and was extremely quiet. It felt like he was alone, always, I think he wanted people's attention and care, that's why he's been all these crazy stuff. I was tearing.
At that moment, I started to think, when I become old, would I be forgotten like this? Nobody cares about me and die alone? After I took this photo, I went to him and told him "No matter what happens, I will remember you, grandpa, always and forever". He looked at me, he said nothing but smiled.
