ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This early morning in March started off with a battle between competing Male Lions over the females of the Enkoyeni Pride. It was a takeover in the making as I gathered my camera and opened the side door and positioned my gear. I found myself face to face with the Lion in this image as he ran full throttle directly toward me - on his path to the defending duo of Male Lions positioned down by the river. This battle came together right outside of camp as we heard the Lions roaring through the night. Watching this epic confrontation come together within the safety of my vehicle - I could only wonder at the fear he must instill within his adversaries as he closed in for the strike.

Dana Kennedy has photographed throughout some of the most remote and wild landscapes in Africa. She has composed a portfolio of images capturing the stunning beauty and iconic spirit of the unique wildlife that resides within these wild places. Karen Blixen once wrote "You are never more alive than when living among Lions," I have found this chapter in my life to be most rewarding as I continue to journey and explore the majestic wildlife that is Africa. For I have been lucky on so many levels to live my dream and share my encounters and the stories that go along with them to those who's hearts yearn for adventure. My images are an extension of my heart and its been an amazing ride that I hope to continue for many years to come."
