ENTRY DESCRIPTION
The Arabian Orix Fight in Say Al Salam Desert, UAE.
The Arabian Orix extinct in 1970 and reintroduced in 1980 and till today by the great ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Abu Dhabi great ruler Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed and his family. The Arabian Orix are thriving in the deep desert in UAE due to the conservation effort carried out in last three decades. The recent study reveals over 1000 Orix in wild and it keeps growing due to the new law to protect them. It is the most successful mammal reintroduction program in the world. This is a prime example of a small human touch can save an extinct species to the world.
