ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Designed by the Portuguese office Aires Mateus, the new EDP headquarters are much more than a simple functional response to a programmatic need. Instead, they conceive a new urban cosmos in the heart of Lisbon.

There, the tour-of-force between the organicity of the Targus river and the geometry of the building creates a hypnotic dance, and no one can be indifferent to it. However, the dynamism of the composition is due not only to the materiality of its architectural lines but also to the shadows they produce.

Suddenly, it seems no longer possible to distinguish what may be up or down: the sky and the ground appear to become one with the architecture. Thus, an inverted symmetry is born.
