Architecture: Honorable Mention 2019 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Sydney Opera House is one of the most recognizable architecture pieces in the world. However most photographs of it are taken from vantage points not observed by its visitors. I wanted to capture this colossal structure towering above the theatre goers gathered at its foot. It's not the view we are familiar with, yet it perfectly places the grandeur of the architectural masterpiece in its urban context. SOH is particularly breathtaking at night, when its almost alien curves and vaulting ceilings are highlighted against the blackness of the sky.
AUTHOR
I am an interaction designer and developer, currently working on design of virtual reality worlds.
For quite some time now I have been fascinated with the impact of architectural landscapes on their inhabitants as individuals and as groups. Though relatively new to it, photography has become the window to observe and document those urban social dynamics.
