Landscapes: Honorable Mention 2019 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
After a weekend of hiking under rather poor conditions early this summer, finally the skies cleared and the sun came through from time to time. Low hanging clouds enveloped the mountains of the Dachstein mountain range in the Styrian Alps and fog rose from the valleys below. The moment was fleeting though and in order to capture the hut with the semi-circle of fog, I knew I had to be quick so I took the shot hand held and hoped that image stabilization would not let me down. It did not.
AUTHOR
I am a 37 year old Austrian photography enthusiast. When I first started, I mainly wanted to capture the amazing underwater world, which I was lucky enough to witness during diving trips around the world. Then my focus shifted to nighttime photography almost by chance when I found out what even an older model of mirrorless cameras can do. I have been photographing northern-Lights, the moon, lightning, the milky way and fireflies ever since. Recently I find myself drawn to dramatic skies in the mountains and elsewhere.
