Landscapes: Honorable Mention 2019 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
The American courgette not only forms a very beautiful mantle to look at, but it develops by attaching itself to the trunk of the trees of each species coming to suffocate them with its branches and preventing sunlight from completing the chlorophyll synthesis, killing them.At the end of the season, of the attacked tree, all that remains is a trunk with bare branches of leaves: a dead plant for suffocation. According to us, in Italy, the American courgette invasion is taking on "apocalyptic dimensions". Miles of banks and acres of flood plains are submerged by the imported courgette. Hundreds of trees have already died of suffocation.
