Landscapes: Honorable Mention 2019 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
On a beautiful spring day, the sun's powerful rays were gently diffused by the clouds and revealed the incredible textures of the sheep grazed grassland and moorlands. The glacially scoured steep North face of Cribyn reveals the old red sandstone layers that form it's 'skeleton'. At the top of the sandstone flagged path, a group of hikers enjoy the majestic views of the Brecon Beacons from its summit.
AUTHOR
I grew up in the New Forest and was fortunate to have spent time in the mountains and other 'wild' places from an early age. Motivated by a desire to share my experiences of these beautiful landscapes, I soon developed an interest in photography. This passion for the outdoor environment led to a career in outdoor education. I continued to develop my photography skills as a student of Ffotogallery, the national agency for the development of photography in Wales and I have recently completed an MA in Documentary photography at the University of South Wales. I am currently working on a long-term project examining re-wilding in the U.K.
