Landscapes: Honorable Mention 2019 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
After a return visit to Skogafoss, I was lucky enough to make the trip to Kvernfoss, an absolute delight lying undiscovered off the main highway. The waterfall lies in a half-hidden valley where it descends from a significant height to crash onto a series of large boulders below. It is an awesome sight. The back wall of the canyon is wonderfully excoriated and makes for a perfect background.
The image was processed in several stages using both DXO and Adobe software, being careful to maintain a dark and moody surround to highlight the form of the water as it descends.
AUTHOR
I fell in love with photography at the age of 13. It has been a lifelong passion ever since and is the channel for my creative output. I look to create strong emotional images that tell a story. The advent of digital has been a revelation for me. It enables creativity and has elevated photography in my view to a more dynamic and innovative art form.
Most recently, I have been returning to Iceland to cover the many aspects of the unique landscapes there, in particular, its waterfalls and bleak volcanic landscapes.
