ENTRY DESCRIPTION
I took off for the Southwest from San Diego in early October to shoot the fall colors in Northern Arizona. Normally that should be peak color, but fall was about 3 weeks late this year. On my first day there I found that 90% of the aspen were still green, with a few yellow branches here and there. I realized this would make a great monochrome shot, as the one yellow branch would be much brighter, and the texture of the ferns and grasses would be emphasized.
